Since my TV still refuses to chow Star Sports, I haven't been able to watch a single tennis match this year. Why don't you get it repaired, you might ask. It's because I'm lazy. Thank you. So anyway, I couldn't possibly miss this particular match, where Roger would possibly make history. With Nadal safely out of the way and his conqueror across the net, Federer finally did what he had been waiting for for so long. No wonder he sobbed. I like guys who sob, I've realised. Not those who sob all the time, you know, but it's nice to know they can and be reminded once in a while. Whoever started this concept of crying being a womanly thing anyway?
Of course, Nids' couldn't stand it. She thought he was weird, and strangely enough, that I was weird too. She also thinks Mirka is weird and crying is weird. Weird.
The match wasn't too long or close, to say the least, except the second set. But that was probably because Federer was too distracted by the weirdo who got onto the court and started waving a Spanish flag in his face. Even tried to drape it around him and put a beret on his head. ( I missed that because Nids' insisted on watching Wizards of Waverly Place for some reason. She is such a kid.) But anyway, shocking really. All everyone was thinking was "it could have been a knife...". A Monica Seles all over again. And plenty of people could be out to get Federer. *shudder*
But when all was said and done, Federer was in total command out there. He hardly made any mistakes, played the most artistic of shots and deserved his win. No one could have looked happier Oh wait, he was crying...when presented the trophy by his good friend Andre. I couldn't understand his victory speech coz he spoke in French. Seriously, he is so awesome. He speaks four languages. Fluently. Hotness.
He has named his latest prize "Coupe des Mousquetaires" and introduced her to us on Facebook. He is so awesome. (Have I mentioned that already?). But yeah, he is.
Oh, what does that "coupe" thing mean? Anyone? I did learn some new French words yesterday. Jeu, quinze, trente, quarante. Forgotten how to pronounce them, though.
French sucks.
But the French Open doesn't, anymore. :)
Update: I found wedding pictures! Look how happy they are! Awww. And people are hilarious, there are speculations as to whether he will name the baby Roland, lmao!

Coupe obviously mean Cup, doesn't it, dungbrain?
And LMAO. You ARE weird, sir.
HE IS BEYOND AWESOME!!!!
Isnt called something like the Musketeers Cup??? Obviously coupe means cup! How can you not get that? Yeah well Im glad you didnt gloat. Even my other Fed fan friend (ooh alliteration!) didnt gloat, you've all turned less mean suddenly. I did complain and spoil sister's jubilation though. Im sorry but I couldnt stand the win and then the 'quasi-crying' on top of that... did i use the quasi word correctly?
Well congrats. *sulks*

And dont you stop posting tennis stuff. Thats the only reason I read your blog!
Sonal
Oh FINE. I wasn't thinking that much, and coupe could also mean coop, coup, cop, cope. Hmph.
@nids: YEAH YEAH *gloats*
@sonal: How art thou?!! watcha upto? And yeah, Fed fans are nice people, just like him. Besides, now you know how we felt after last year's Wimbledon, so. And besides, I remember you didn't gloat when Fed lost this year's Aussie. AND besides, I've stopped hating Nadal coz he's nice to Fed and he was all "if there's anyone who deserves to win it, it's him". That was sweet.
Lalala. And pfft, HOW was that quasi-crying? (um, duno if you used it correctly, what is it that you meant exactly? ;) )
Ooh rem we wrote a Roland Garros article last year? <3
Bwahahaha! Coupe is cup, obviously! Funny how people miss the obvious. *smirks*
And it was such an oh-maiiii-gaad moment when Federer won. I bet when Soderling was thanking him for such a brilliant game, Federer must have been thanking Soderling, albeit silently for eliminating Nadal. :P And I love guys who sob at such momentous moments too. It shows the strength of their passion. :D And his French accent, good lord! If only there were more like him for us commoners.
ROFL @ the baby name speculations. Hilarious, really.
By the way, I speak four languages fluently too, and on my way to a fifth one. Hotness, no?
(That question was meant in a totally non-lesbian sense.)
"Besides, now you know how we felt after last year's Wimbledon, so. "
No I dont. You see Nadal won Wimbledon by defeating the best player on grass himself unlike Fed who won after someone ELSE had already defeated Nadal. And Fed played atleast 2-3 bad matches Rafa just got to play one and he was out without a second chance, while at Wimbledon last year he played amazingly well. So there, its not the same thing.
Onto other things, all I have to say to these hols is "thou suck-eth, royally".
Do not remind me of the pathetic stuff that we do in the heat of the moment and then end up feeling stupid about, like that stupid article.
And I used quasi correctly. it means (acc to OED) 'apparently but not really'. I meant to say that he wasnt really crying. It was different from the other times that he bawled on court.
Anyway on to Wimledon now. Not very excited since Rafa's prospects seem bleak thanks to his knee... sigh!

I would've told how how Coupe means Cup, like *obviously*. But people have rubbed that in enough already. *Psst* I didn't know it did before I read the comments either. :P */Psst*.
I can't believe I just opened Psst and closed *Psst* with a slash like you would in a computer language. Shitsickles, the computer actually seems to be getting to me now!
Kinda late now but YAYAYAYAYAYAYAY! He WON! I hope he names his kid Roland. Because otherwise he might name her/him "Coupe des Mousquetaires" :P
And just how awesome is he, really? He puts up videos of himself introducing his friends. He puts up his ad's and tells us about them like he's really excited about them. I'm sure it's his PR Department that writes that but screw it, I like to think that he does. He takes pictures of the Wimbledon court when he goes there. He cries. He speaks four languages. He's such a gentleman and he's such a player. Just how awesome can he get?!
I agree with Nidhi on Mirka being weird. She's really, really weird. I'm still trying to figure out why she was taking pictures of him with her phone that day. As if she had a D-SLR built in or something. Or maybe that was her idea of a personal touch. She might love him and all but she's just weird.
He will kick butt at Wimbledon too, I'm sure! :D
@drenched: which four? Bah, I only got 3. I always hated you >.<
@sonal: Anyway. Federer's win isn't cheapened just because he didn't beat Nadal, thats a really narrow way of looking at it..And um, he WAS really crying. Jeez, give him some credit will ya? I never mocked at true emotion, if and when Nadal ever showed it. :|
@ish- lol. Shitsickles? Really? LOL. *stores it in brain* Btw, he speaks SIX languages apparently. And I know he's awesome, I named my teddy after him didn't I? :P
nice. Fed always had it in him, the finesse. I'm sure he's on for more.
