The wild swan's death-hymn took the soul
Of that waste place with joy
Hidden in sorrow: at first to the ear
The warble was low, and full and clear; ...
But anon her awful jubilant voice,
With a music strange and manifold,
Flow’d forth on a carol free and bold;
As when a mighty people rejoice
With shawms, and with cymbals, and harps of gold...
~Tennyson's The Dying Swan
I came across this verse by Tennyson (my favoritest poet of all time) a few days ago, and had the photo to match. Hmm, no, I think I matched the verse to the photo.....anyhow, I just thought that I'd like to dedicate it to Michael Jackson, it seems to...fit. I've never really been a huge fan of his, but I do respect him as an artist. And I *love* Heal the World. So. RIP.

Nice verse, beautiful picture to match. Btw, what is that swan made of? I've seen crystal pieces like those but that doesn't seem like crystal. Seems more like some metal.
This entire Michael Jackson deal is just..weird to me. I wasn't a big fan either but I did like some of his songs, which is why I feel bad about his dying. I think it's that way with most of the world, isn't it? We kept making MJ jokes, we kept talking about how screwed up he was and then one day he just dies. And we don't know what to say, or even feel. It's just weird.. this life thing. I love Heal The World too, btw. I keep looking for opportunities to put that song into my presentations. Never got one. Bah.
Thenks :) Blogging has lost its pleasure, btw. Nah the swan isn't crystal, it's metal, you're right. It's actually this candlestand thing, i was bored and it was pretty, so.
And *ditto* about MJ. Um, I've had my share of criticizing and being weirded out by him, and I don't exactly like seeing his photo splattered across the paper. And yet I feel guilty saying that. After all, no one knows what he really faced, and I guess everyone deserves that benefit of doubt. And he did some great things too, so.
i loved his songs but never followed his career... and yes he was a joke. But i think no one really got him. it's really sweet of u to mention him with a Tennyson hymn...
Aww thanks...and yeah the poor guy was pretty misunderstood :( *sigh*
